Not a joiner by nature, and the very few people in my life that I have met that have also read Proust in an exhaustive fashion are also a bit off - and solitary. Is anyone here a member?
I think that reading Proust requires an equal amount of time spent thinking about Proust. We have only so much time in our lives - a shame, isn't it?

what i found attractive about the proust society was the idea of a reading group where you would read proust's in search of lost time 100 pages a month for four years meeting once a month. sounds like a great form of group therapy.
i am not sure about keeping the group together that long and how sucessful they have been but i like the idea.
it also give pleaty of thinking time with out one book consuming your whole life.

The book doesn't consume your whole life: you give yourself freely to it.
And don't you have some math work to do?
But, truthfully, I would love to hear from any PS members. What fun to write a story on a PS chapter in which several members represent or correspond to Recherche characters.
Something to do on a rainy Saturday.
