This book is about a girl named Melody and she cannot talk or walk or do anythind for herself. But, Melody is EXTREMELY smart. She can remember everything she hears or sees. Also she hates not being alble to talk. She has so many intellligent things to say. She is just starting school and that is making her even more upset because she is stuck in a room with other kids her age that have learning disabilities. Now at her shcool they are starting something new where the kids in that have learning diasablities are being included in the regular classes.

Melody would be a great person to look up to because she allways is doing her best even though she has many problems to face.

Do you think that Melody would be a kind of person you would look up to if she were more handi-capable?

Nw that Melody is involed with the regular students she needs a way to communicate. So her helper Catherine helps Melody find something that would be useful for Melody to use when she needs to talk. Catherine finds a thing called the Medi-talker. it is a machine that talks when you type something into it. Melody can finally talk and she is so excited about it. One day in history the teacher made the kids take a test for the Wiz Kids (its like knowledge bowl) and Melody was the only one that got all the questions right. Now she is studying so that she can try out for the team.

Melody is such a determined person. It would be good for more people to be like her and try there best all the time.
