Will got off the addiction of the warmweed after 3 months of being on it because of slavery. Evanlyn helped him get off it by reducing the dose lower and lower each day. When he was off it he started to work out a little bit and he made a traps for catching food around their cabbin, when Evanlyn wanted to check them because she wanted Will to save enegry and be able to do stuff when they tried to leave the island. When she was out checking the traps a guy came behind her and put a hand over her mouth and dragged her away while he was doing that she passed out and then when she woke up she was on the back of a horse and their were 6 soilders around her that were not from the island they were on. Will was asleep on the porch and then nocited that she been gone more them 2 hours, so he gather the hunting bow and a blanket to go find her. When he found the first trap it was liked she left in but he noticed stuff in the snow like large trails instead of footprints. So he went and followed them it took him 3 hours to find their camp because he was really out of shape, when he did he found a place to rest and fell asleep.
If Will made those traps these day they might work if he makes them correctly and if he finds the right kind of food the animal eats.

I read this book before, I think he messed up the snares. I think he didn't take his time putting them together.
I agree he will have a higher percentage of success if he finds the right food.
