sydney hathwell has been at her uncles ranch for about 3 weeks now and has done some pretty hard jobs that probably no other girl could do. she saved a little girl named Emmy-lou out of a well hole because none of the guys could fitt in the hole. she hurt her ribs and her ankle because of that and her secret of really being a girl is out! tim creighton the rancher second in command after sydneys uncle went to go find her and walked in on her awhile she was taking a bath and was furious but she gave her explination why she hid the secret and he understood and shes going to talk to her uncle when he gets back which that will be the first time in her life she will meet him

We want more than a plot summary!

She sounds like a really tough girl, and this sounds like a really interesting book!

the main charater sdyney and i are very simliar for example she always curious about everything and likes to know whats going on. but for 17 its incrediable for her to be alone to travel from England to Texas. I like travleing like sdyney but i dont like to be away from home for too long. her unlce is still not back from his trip but the second person in charge after him tim, wrote him a letter telling him sydney is a girl. Tim and sydney are agruing quite a bit about her knowing there arent any women allowed at the ranch but yet she still came as a boy. but it says tim's and her thoughts to themselves and they both like each other lot. how will her unlce react when he finally meets his niece who he thought was a boy? im excited to get to that part. i alwasy think its cute how she will say something that people say in England and tim always corrects her how poeple from the south say something.

What made Sydney want to travel from England to Texas?

its always fun when kids make comments that to us may be cute and funny, but to them its embarasing because we laugh. but a character name Hiedi who is a little girl and is a friend of Sdyneys who had said "look my sandals are just like jesus's and they are a reminder of how good he wants us to be". its maybe just me but if im having a hard day and a little kid says something like that it changes everything around. Sydney and velma the house keeper a doing a sewing party and are sewing dresses for girls for school and who dont have alot of money. Sdyney and TIm are slowly falling in love He calls her sugar and when she is ever crying he takes care of her. Tim had lost his wife a few years back because she died from a diease and he had said he would never marry again but i think just maybe he will marry Sdyney.

I agree with you Taylor i think that Tim will end up with Sydney, because the books i have read have ended up that way.

Why do you think Sydney will end up with Tim, what does the book prove to you that makes you think that?

sdyney's uncle finally came home from his trip. i didnt really know what to expect if he would be upset with her for lying saying he was girl or not. but turns out he wasnt after all he loved her for who she was and toldher how she reminded so much of her mom Crystal. Tim proposed to sdyney but frist he gave her a puppy of course she said yes. i love how back in the day how if people truly loved each other they would get married that day. but in this case they were to get maried the next day. I did have an idea in mind that rex hume the other man who wanted to marry sdyney in the begining would come find her at somepoint. But i did not expect that he would show up on day she was to marry tim. if i were in sydey's shoes i dont know what i would do. over all i loved every part of this book its funny, sweet and exciting i dont think there was any part that i didnt like
