I recently "liked" the Adagio Tea Facebook page, but have been surprised by the animosity there by both the company and by customers towards Teavana. Does anyone know why there is such animosity? I'm just curious. I like both tea companies, but the animosity sours my impression.

How unpleasant! I wonder if there's some history there; did Adagio split off from Teavana, or something like that?

I feel as though that kind of thing takes away from a company/person/organization; It is just unappealing. If there is a history between them, then for the sake of the tea get over it.

If I had to guess I would say it's just because some people don't care for the marketing/sales approaches of Teavana. The salespeople are quite pushy. I don't think it has anything to do with the tea itself.

My only experience with Teavana has been one visit while on vacation (there is not a branch near me). The sales person was energetic, but I wouldn't call her pushy. She was quite polite. But some people really dislike energetic sales personnel.

Interesting. I have heard of Adagio being rude to its customers on message boards before, so that does fit with my general understanding of the company :P

My displeasure with Teavana can be explained here.  Several of my favorites disappeared with this merger.
