La mia biblioteca
I have been collecting books actively since I was about twelve years old. Currently, I have about 13,500 volumes. I am primarily interested in serious subjects and classic and literary works. Except for a few practical areas - gardening being the best example - I favor the theoretical approach to subjects. The largest section is literature, followed by history (I was a history major and still think historically), but the fastest growing section currently is philosophy and religion. Because of particular current interest, I am only putting the religion section on LibraryThing. I am not including books in reference format, numerous Biblical texts, most books on and of mythology, and books on denominations.

Because I am dubious about the usefulness of tags over subject headings, I have only added tags where subject headings are lacking and titles are not descriptive.

To see what I am currently reading, see Cumulative List 2007 in the 50 Book Challenge Group.
Informazione su di me
A native Minnesotan, I enjoyed a 40-year career in library and information services while generally regarding myself as an adult educator. My particular interests are (in short) how we receive, use, and share our ideas (concept formation) and related to that informed conversation for community-building and public participation, information-seeking behavior, information policy, philosophy of adult learning, self-directed learning, and the role of books, reading, and libraries in learning.
