I read and own way too many books. Books smell funny. Having lot's of books at home feels as secure as having $$$ in the bank. My cats like turning the pages for me which is fine if I'm ready and difficult if not. I have been known to drop books in the bathtub, then use a hairdryer to bring them back to life. They emerge from the expereince all rumpled, but having survived. Books are like cockroaches, you just can't kill them (as a species) very easily.
