I've just started cataloging the books we have in our Florida home, and my Kindle books. It's a pretty weird collection - a number of books that lots of folks have, and quite a few that almost no one else has, at least among the LibraryThing community. I'm having fun finding some of the more obscure things (the odd Monaco cookbook, some things my husband brought to the US from Switzerland, a couple of Alibris children's books from my childhood)but also loving the satisfying input of the ISBN when the exact book and its cover appear and I can add it with a click. A tiny bit OCD, maybe.

I'm the cliched "lifelong reader" - I could read before I got to first grade, and I've been devouring books ever since. I read a lot of fiction, but I also love memoirs and biographies, and I have a ridiculous number of cookbooks for a non-professional (especially since these days I mostly cook from the Internet). I'm a sailor by marriage - our boat is in the Caribbean at the moment - born and raised in landlocked Ohio (no, I don't count lakes and rivers, sorry) but an early escapee - college and another sixteen years in New England, a career move to Florida, a European-born husband - if you look up peripatetic in the dictionary you might find a photo of me, at least for the moment.
