La mia biblioteca
My "library" is partly here in my modest home office, but most of it resides on the shelves of libraries in the Rocky Mountain region.

I used to have a much larger "personal" library, but I only have about a third of what I had five years ago. I donated or gave away most of my books and I now buy very few books, due to being broke (see "cash flow problem" in About me) and to general decluttering.

However, I have a constant turnover of old and new books circulating through my library thanks to a combination of the old-fashioned interlibrary loan system and the internet.

I regularly pick up and drop off books at my branch library that I order using Prospector, which gives me access to numerous local academic and public library collections.

I use Zotero to organize my book collection data and various web sites like Amazon, Prospector, LOC, Google Scholar, and WorldCat to find the latest writings by the theorists, journalists, activists, and such that seem to me to be providing the best critical knowledge available to the citizenry - local, national, and global.
Informazione su di me
I signed up on 01/09/10 and added a few new books just to see what happens.

I'm a citizen, a commoner, a failed working class hero, a "retired" worker, and a zeteticist of sorts. I suffer from a lifelong case of bibliomania.

My wife of 40 years and I live in Denver. We have a severe cash flow problem, thanks in part to the current round of austerity (aka class war). We're relatively frugal anyway, but we know we might (as Green Day puts it so well) lose everything in the fire of the 21st century breakdown. Well, fine. I'll just try to make this the year of living fearlessly and deal with it.

My attention these days is largely focused on life on the internet and life in the neighborhood, part of the overall dialectic of global and local.
