Wilbur J. Watson was a prominent bridge engineer, based in Cleveland, Ohio, in the first half of the twentieth century. He specialized in concrete construction and designed the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge, the Akron Air Dock and other major structures. His daughter, Sara Ruth Watson, was a Professor of English at the Cleveland State University Library until her death in the '90s, whereupon she bequeathed to CSU her father's collection of books on civil engineering and a fund to support the collection.
