For fifty years I've collected radical pamphlets, leaflets, badges and ephemera, mainly Australian. I use LibraryThing to catalogue them, happily discovering in the process publications that are NOT in libraries (as far as it is possible to tell, from LibraryThing's amazing coverage of world library catalogues). I'll add books from my collection of labour history and politics in due course.

I'm an independent scholar, writer of political history books, and retired academic. Best known as the co-author of CLASS STRUCTURE IN AUSTRALIAN HISTORY (with Raewyn Connell) and RADICAL SYDNEY (with Rowan Cahill). Now writing a political life of V. Gordon Childe.
