These resources combined with an extensive local history library provide visitors, students & academics alike the opportunity to deeply explore heritage.

The Hector Exhibit Centre and Archives was built on July 21st, 1973 as a project of the Government of Canada in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the landing of the Ship Hector. It hosts a broad range of temporary exhibits focusing on local history and culture during the summer months. The Hector Exhibit Centre and Archives is administrated by Pictou County Genealogy and Heritage Society which also runs the McCulloch House Museum, located at the same address as the Exhibit Centre. Our archives host a great volume of genealogy and heritage information, avaliable for public viewing.
