The "permanent" collection is made up of poetry, political/cultural scholarship (especially critical studies of gender, race & class), and some sentimental favorites. I am trying to downsize, so some books have been donated and have yet to be removed. As a critic, I also receive a great many ARCs.

Retired journalism professor; poet, writer and editor. I read omnivorously and sometimes indiscriminately. So far, I've averaged a book a day since I was seven (that's more than four decades, but who's counting?). I love poetry, drama, literary fiction, general non-fiction; I'm intrigued by science, history and religion; and obsessed by politics. For "brain-candy," I prefer science fiction (especially alternative/speculative history) and *blush* lesbian romance.
