Until I started writing fiction (under the pen name Richard "Dixie" Hartwell) I read mostly non-fiction books. Lately I've immersed myself in a lot of different types of books, particularly anything about the South.

I'm a published author of both fiction (southern humor, fantasy, spirituality) and non-fiction (self-help, relationships, recovery, psychology). I love nature and animals and seeing good movies. And of course, I love to read.
