Chiwara Permaculture House hosts a free and open to the public Permaculture Library. All that is required for book/dvd check out is that you live in the Lower Burns Park community. The library is open every week to the general public, and for those that wish to come and study our permaculture resources.

Chiwara Permaculture is a Research and Education firm based in Michigan. We research, design and educate permaculture solutions in 6 main areas: Food, Energy, Water, Building, Transportation and Waste.

We have three tiers of Educational programming: K-12, College, and Community based.

We believe permaculture is a powerful vehicle for STEM education and problem based learning, and to that end, we research and educate through permaculture solutions to community problems. The primary problems we seek solutions to are: How can we transition our modern lifestyle off fossil fuels, and shift from a culture of consumption, to a culture of production.

We practice, teach and adhere to Bill Mollison and David Holmgren's Permaculture Principles and Ethics.

We promote small scale, community based solutions.
