Welcome to the library of the Anglican Theological Institute of the Diocese of The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands! Our collection includes a variety of resources for use by clery and lay persons who wish to deepen their knowledge and understanding of Christian faith and practice. We hope that our library will become an important resource in the development of ministry in throughout our diocese and the wider community

The Anglican Theological Institute (ATI) was established for the purpose of offering courses and training for both clergy and laity in the formation and development of ministries at all levels in our Diocese, as well as providing persons with a well-informed faith in action. The Anglican Theological Institute will serve to strengthen the worship, work, witness, and service of all within our diocesan family and the Christian community. The Anglican Theological Institute will focus on teaching and equipping Anglicans but is open to all who desire theological education and training.

It will offer a wide variety of educational programs and training for service in the church and society, including the academic preparation for persons aspiring to the diaconate. Resources are provided for grounding persons in the Bible, Spirituality, Church History, Theology (Systematic, Moral, Pastoral and Sacramental), Liturgy, Homiletics, and other disciplines to prepare for ministry.

ROLE OF THE INSTITUTE

The Role of the Institute is to:

1. Provide basic and general theological education for the laity
2. Provide clergy and laity with foundational tools for those involved in ministries
3. Provide Refresher Courses on the Pillars of the Anglican Faith
4. Strengthen Lay-Driven Ministry through education and training
