Amanda Zook

This was a truly beautiful story that hit me in unexpected ways. The two main characters have dealt with a lot of tragedy in their lives and this book is all about these two people finding their way back from those tragedies and learning how to love. It's also a story that contains a lot of redemption. And it definitely contains some events that may be triggering to some readers. This includes domestic abuse and death of a family member.

While this is a beautiful story and there is plenty of romance, there were some darker moments. Which is a bit different than the books I typically read. It was very emotional and absolutely put me through the wringer. But on the opposite side of that, it's also a very uplifting and inspirational in many ways. There was certainly a lot going on and a lot to take in and absorb.

The struggles and tragedies that Sophie and Evan have been through are vastly different. But their pain and how they are struggling with things is one of the common threads that bring them together. Their romance was written exceptionally well, as were the more difficult aspects of the book. I will be looking forward to the next book by Amanda Zook and I recommend this book to romance lovers looking for something with a lot of substance and redemption.
