When the mayor's wife is accidentally killed during a shooting incident, Marshall Jeremy Six sets out to capture the three men responsible. Two die in the resulting fight and when he returns to town with the third, the town's folk attack Six and his prisoner and lynch the prisoner.

Six resigns in disgust and leaves town to look up an old friend, the Sheriff of Rifle Gap who he discovers is trying to stop a range war. When the sheriff is killed, Six steps in and warns all gunmen to leave town. When one faction refuses to listen and attacks the town, the townsfolk join Six to end the lawlessness. Now convinced that he can't expect people to obey the law all the time, he returns to Spanish Gap to get his old job back and win the lady he loves.… (altro)
