Brian Wren is English by birth and Reformed by tradition. He is Emeritus Professor of Worship at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. As an internationally published hymn-poet, he has entries in denominational hymnals in North America, Britain, and Australia. Brian holds undergraduate mostra altro and doctoral degrees from Oxford University. A retired Minister of the United Reformed Church (UK), he is a Fellow of the Hymn Society U.S. and Canada. An interesting collection of recent hymns (NOT praise songs of the contemporary variety). Words only; music not included, tunes not suggested. Those worshipers who value traditional Christian hymns will find these newer hymns entirely appropriate for current worship experiences. Some of these recently-written hymns are poetry of significant quality and are also highly effective for personal worship and meditation even if only read instead of being sung. Also appropriate and effective as recitation in sermons and other group worship.… (altro)
