I recently had the opportunity to vacation in Maui. While at the Border's in Kahului, I decided that since I was on vacation, I should at least be looking at the books about Hawaii in addition to my usual diet of crochet. Imagine my delight and surprise when I found that that there were multiple books about crocheting leis available in the section about Hawaiiana.

Between my husband and myself we found four books on crocheting leis, and I purchased two, both of them by Roberta Wong.

The reason this book gets four stars rather then five is that while it is a really neat book, there is not a whole lot of diversity of craft. Also, if I had to pick only one book, I would go with her second book as the directions are clearer and the patterns in this book use a smaller hook which necessitates more stitches.

Also, in the second book she explores some joining techniques I have not seen elsewhere. However, if you have the money and the space available, I would recommend adding both books to your collection.… (altro)
