Gill Robb Wilson

The author held U.S. pilot's license #7. His flight test was conducted by one of the Wright brothers. One of the founders of Civil Air Patrol at the beginning of WW2, to provide aerial anti submarine patrols along the coasts of the United States. Later began "Flying" Magazine in which he provided a two page spread titled "The Airman's World: a brief prose or poetic selection and a picture related to aviation. This book contained many of those reflections.

For older pilots, Wilson's thoughts will bring a flood of memories, most cherished, a few stark reminders of moments of terror. They may draw young pilots or those who wonder about flying into the pilot's seat to learn what that special world may hold for them.… (altro)
