QUEER CHAMELEON AND FRIENDS is a warm, fuzzy gem of a book! Where as the straight cishet chameleons are all green, the queer chameleons assume the colors of the pride flag that best match their identity in order to stand out (and just generally look fabulous). They poke fun at queer stereotypes (my favorite being the "How do I know I'm gay?" Buzzfeed quiz), try to educate the greens ("What people think LGBTQ+ education is / What LGBTQ+ education actually is" should be framed and hung in every classroom and library in the US), and offer comfort and support to one another. It's such a sweet, wholesome, funny, life-affirming collection - reading it felt like being cocooned in a blanket made of wiggly puppies and melty chocolate chip cookies.
