This is the kind of book that you read and it changes your life. The kind of book that you just can't put down. The kind of book that you start recommending to people before you even finish reading it.
'The Desire Factor: How to Embrace Your Materialistic Nature to Reclaim Your Full Spiritual Power,' by Christy Whitman is a powerhouse of personal advice that packs every sentence with dynamic ideas and leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to make your desires a reality.

Whitman's main message in the book is this: you should always go after what you desire. Whether big or small, the book says that your desires are a way of the universe talking through you. The universe is made up of energy and every time you decide that you want or need something, that is the universe's energy connecting with you. But a lot of people give that advice, right? Follow your dreams. It sounds a bit like something from a Disney movie. How is this book any different?
Well, Whitman outlines seven principals throughout the book that are designed to help encourage you to channel your desire. These principals are things like 'The Principal of Alignment,' which teaches you to gauge how in sync you are with the energy that makes up the universe and 'The Principal of Focus,' that talks all about how to direct your attention.

Every chapter finishes off with a wonderfully meditative 'Energy Mastery Exercise' that gives you time to de-stress while also absorbing what the chapter has taught you.
I would be remiss if I didn't end this review with a quote from Whitman herself, as I feel that her writing really speaks for itself. Here was one of my favorite quotes from the book:

“Life is designed to keep expanding, and to live a fulfilling life, we simply have to become active participants in our own expansion.”

An inspirational and absolutely fascinating take on the traditional self help guide, 'The Desire Factor: How to Embrace Your Materialistic Nature to Reclaim Your Full Spiritual Power,' by Christy Whitman is basically a one stop shop for self-fulfillment and success in whatever you desire.
'Desire' is, of course, the key word here, and a word that the book works to help the reader fully understand in every sense. The basic theory that this book brings across is that human beings are capable of manifesting their ideal lives through simply following our greatest desires.

If your desire is a new car, a new job or even something lofty and seemingly impossible like perfect happiness or unflappable serenity, Whitman asserts that everything is possible and within your reach if you only follow that desire.

But how do we do that? Most self-help guides would instruct you to follow a very strict, predetermined schedule or else to repeat mantras or visualize your goals for a certain amount of time every day. But 'The Desire Factor' focuses more on mastering the energy that makes up the entire universe.

Christy Whitman's writing is one of a kind and truly inspiring. I love her usage of exercises at the end of every chapter. All of her sentences were beautifully constructed and utilized to make the reader feel like they were getting a full, guided course in this subject. She really teaches a lot in a concise and interesting way, without making you feel as though she is talking down to you.
Even if you don't enjoy self help books or if you are skeptical about the premise, this book is well worth the read. I think any reader will learn something from it that they can take away and implement in their every day life.

I’d been reading a lot of books that were just hitting too close to current events lately when the opportunity to join the tour for The Desire Factor arrived. I said yes because I thought it would be a nice change of pace and because it would fit in with my guiding word “Intention” for 2021. When the first case of coronavirus community spread in Ohio was declared in March 2020, I thought working from home would last until September. When September 2020 rolled around and no end was in sight, I started getting my finances in order and came up with goals for 2021. One of those goals was a new role with a pay increase.

The layout of the principles are easy to follow. They naturally flow from the current one to the next. It can be difficult to practice a visualization exercise though if you don’t have it memorized. It’s probably easier to record yourself walking your future self through the exercise as a voice memo to play it later. This was a somewhat quick read and the pacing was good.

I won’t get into the details and timeline specifics because then this blog post would be super-long, but I started setting the ball in motion in November to meet my goal by stating my intention to others. I began reading The Desire Factor in January which is really when things started to come together for my goal. I experienced a temporary “no” but persevered and when I had about 2 chapters left to go, the new role with pay increase came together in less than a week. Maybe it’s anecdotal but I really feel as though this book helped me. I’ll continue to revisit it as I continue to make progress on my other 2021 goals.

Quantum Success offers several great suggestion , in addition to the seven key ones, which is valuable in developing relationships. The first I was especially impressed with, was when a young woman was given a "death sentence" because of deteriorating kidneys and a chaplain gave her very wise advise.
Another time was toward the end of the book, suggesting when we seek employment or wish to advance our carer, instead of centering on "What are the benefits" or "How much does it pay?" it would be more productive to take a more positive approach. (This applies to family relationships, also.) The author suggests we should "take absolute responsibility of how much we give to others".

At the end of each step of the seven offered, there u=is a summary and emphasis on key points for discussion which helps the reader absorb the content , plus, would enhance discussions in Book Clubs.
I offer a Four Stars rating.
*This book was gifted me, with no requirement for posting a positive review. This is my honest review.
