This is a nice tribute to figure skating and its significant participants. It takes skating from its beginnings among the Dutch to the present day skating stars who win gold medals at the Winter World Olympics every four years. There are many historical photographs and its good to see them. When I first nudged (and that's all I ever did) into the world of skating, although there were many TV shows showing national and world championships, but there were very few books written about the subject. This book redresses that lack. It combines enough technical information to make it worthwhile, with illustrations and story to give one a good appreciation of the sport.… (altro)
