This succinct little book gives a nice introduction to the Ottoman Empire.

Since my Kindle “Unlimited” loan subscription ends this month, I am returning this book only partially read. To learn more I’ll need to read the thick paperback that I purchased a few years ago - [b:The Ottoman Centuries|758795|The Ottoman Centuries|John Patrick Douglas Balfour|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1407107734l/758795._SY75_.jpg|744904].

A solid introduction to the Vikings and their Influences on English history, this work is fascinating and a great choice for beginners or students. It's a good starting point for further research and covers roughly 300 years, from early raids and invasions to the cultural impacts. Part of an enjoyable series.

The first part looks at the history of Greece from 7000BCE to the 1900s AD, broken down into four parts: the Neolithic Age to the Bronze Age Collapse, the Archaic Years to the Roman Conquest, The Roman and Byzantine Periods, and New and Modern Greek History. This is a compact history of Greece, looking into the evolution of eras and the impact the history has to today. The book is structured with rhetorical questions and narrative quotes to make the content engaging and informative.

The second part looks at Greek Mythology from From Chaos to Uranus to The Odyssey and the Return of Heroes. This part shows an overview of the Gods and Goddesses followed by their interaction and stories that are known today, such as Herakles and Hera. These myths exist to demonstrate human nature.

Overall, a great insight into the events and myths.

The first part of the book delves into the five tribes: Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, Muscogee Creek. The book also looks into six additional tribes:
- Shawnee
- Pawnee
- Sioux
- Navajo
- Comanche
- Apache (an umbrella term)
The rest of the book looks at cases and wars and ultimately the question of freedom. The structure is coherent and this is a quick and informative read.

I throughly enjoyed reading this! I have love history all my life and get excited whenever a new book is out!
"American History: An Enthralling Overview of Major Events that Shaped the United States of America" by Billy Wellman tells the brief overview of important historical events that shaped the United States from the very beginning to present.

What I enjoyed the most was there were some events I learned while reading that I did not remember reading/learning about in school. That did make me go onto to read more on the subject.

What I didn't like was that there were certain areas that did not go into much details that I felt were very prominent to history. As stated before this was an overview of major events.

I feel like this would be beneficial for students in school to give a brief overview on historical events. I feel that this book would be beneficial for students in middle/high school age in additional to traditional textbooks.

I received a digital advanced reader copy from Book Funnel in exchange for my review.

A precise and thorough overview of the major historical events that influenced and shaped the United States. It's accurate and informative and as unbiased as any reader could expect until the last chapter or so, where it is a bit too soon to analyze the most recent events, although the opinions will likely prove true over time. Overall, an entertaining and educational quick non-fiction read for history fans or a good place to start more in-depth research.

An introductory work to basic history of Christianity. Overall, an interesting and relatively unbiased compilation of some of the most important themes and events of Christian-based history, although one or two chapters seem very brief or out of place in the flow of the book. Still quite enjoyable and informative and a good place to start exploring deeper into the subject
