This beautifully illustrated children's book allows the reader to follow a hot air balloon on a trip to many different kinds of places. It could be used in a kindergarten classroom all the way through 5th grade. This book follows a boy and a girl who join their uncle on a hot air balloon adventure through farms, cities and meadows. The children are up high in the balloon with their uncle as the mother follows on the ground in a truck. The colorful pictures allow the children to make up their own story in regards to the characters in the book and the unique settings they encounter.
This book could be used in the classroom to:
-allow children to use their imagination when thinking about words that could go with the illustrations
-change the story every time after recognizing different things in the illustrations
-talk about different kinds of places like cities and meadows
-show children different perspectives with the balloon and the car together on the pages
-appreciate a beautifully illustrated book
