A biography of Charles Robert Patterson that shows the man to have been an unpleasant one. Nasty sort really, but does anyone care? If one does not, the 8 pages of lousy colour reproductions of often reproduced works, bound in the middle, does not in any way recompense the outlay for this book.
I know I'm not criticising the book for what it attempts to do: give a truthful portrait of the painter, but inasmuch as no other book on him has yet been made, many buyers beside me must have expected the art to have been in the foreground.
