Book Title: Diary Of An Angry Young Man
Author: Rishi Vohra
Format: Kindle

My Thoughts:
The crux of this story is how the external conditions rupture the peace in one's life turns a person to be hard as a rock from inside. Written in the first person, this story titled - Diary Of An Angry Young Man by Rishi Vohra takes many themes. This doesn't look like just a fictional story but a reality made to look like fiction.

To get deeper into the story, Raghav, the book's protagonist, is a young 7-year-old lad who lives in the Colaba area of Mumbai city. A particular incident involving communal riots in the most unpleasant manner unexpectedly shatters the young mind. In the chapter written during the riots, there was one specific scene in which Raghav takes away another young boy's identification things that depict him as a Muslim and gives away his something so that the other group doesn't harm him. Though this looks like a small thing, in the magnified view, it is about many things. This particular writing piece attracted me a lot.

Talking back about the plot, Raghav is very much attached to his mother and sister. On an unfortunate day, he happens to see their death. This incident leaves Raghav disturbed and creates a void in his life. His relationship with his father is a strained one. Thus, he is always alone. He decides to avenge his mother's death, and therefore his life takes a different direction altogether. Coming from a locality where quiet and peaceful life exists to the surroundings makes him almost a dangerous criminal is the most significant leap in the narration. His acquaintance with a street girl, the life after this friendship and the later incidents in his life are absolutely stunningly written.

This happens to be the most thrilling story that a reader can ever read. The story of a young and innocent kid turning towards a criminal in the most unexpected manner is genuinely heartbreaking to read. But, on the other side, author Rishi's writing, language and vocabulary, character introduction and sustaining, with many themes like community pressure, unconditional love, mental health, society, legal and law and humanity, are very well incorporated in this story. With trigger warnings of abuse, murder and riots, this book can be read by mature and wide-minded readers.
