Six girls were kidnapped between August 1988 and November 1989: in early 1990 another girl was taken but managed to escape, leading the police to Gert van Rooyen and his lover Joey Haarhoff.

Shortly after, the couple died in a murder/suicide, and the case ended with no answers, and no bodies. A frank autobiography by Joey’s daughter Amor – who was arrested together with her husband on suspicion of being an accomplice – is an irresistible lure to anyone hoping for answers.
