There are some very beautiful pictures in this collection; Maria Kesselman as Christine was particularly gorgeous in all of the shots included here. There are also some great "behind the scenes" shots that you just aren't going to see anywhere else.

So why only three stars? Well, many of the photographs are grainy and poorly reproduced (especially with the lighting is dark). There are also several two-page spreads that, while I'm sure would probably look amazing, are cut in half by the binding, which just ruins what the photograph is trying to convey.

The author (photographer) doesn't try to hide the fact that he sees this book as a mere "catalog," and it's his wish that you buy the photograph reprints from him of any that you like (at about $20 each, last time I checked, though on better paper and hopefully of better quality). But considering the hefty price tag on this book (I paid over $40 for my copy), the photographs should have been printed in much better condition than they were.

Finally, several of my pages aren't bound correctly (they're at about a 45 degree tilt, which cuts off the corners of the pictures), although I'm not sure if that's in every book or just a random printing error that was fixed (not in time for my copy, unfortunately).

Although the pictures are definitely a rare treat, I doubt that I would buy anything else from this author unless there was more care taken with the reproduction quality.… (altro)
