I think this book came at a good time for me. Turner’s poems are both self-reflective/nostalgic and prophetic/hopeful. I have been trying lately to be more appreciative of my past and use what I’ve learned to shape my future. So, I saw bits of myself in several of Turner’s poems. Especially this line:

”I have wished to be much cooler, to have my personal history be constructed through better music, more fashionable clothes, cuter style.”½
