Brian Trubshaw, January 29, 1924 - March 24, 2001 Brian Trubshaw was born on January 29, 1924 in Great Britain. He attended the Winchester School, and it was there, at the age of ten, that he decided to become a pilot. He happened to see the Prince of Wales' aircraft land on Pembrey Beach, and it mostra altro sparked his career then and there. He published two books on his experiences, "Test Pilot" and "Concorde: The Inside Story". Trubshaw joined the Royal Airforce in 1942 and trained on Sirman biplanes in the US before flying bombers in the war. He joined the Royal Flight in 1946 and became the personal pilot for George IV and his family. In 1950, Trubshaw became a test pilot with Vickers Armstrong, a weapons company. He helped to develop aircraft, including the Valiant, the plane with which he tested Britain's first atomic bomb. On April 9, 1969, Trubshaw made aviation history by taking the British prototype of the Concorde on it's first flight, which lasted 22 minutes.
