"Salmon in the Trees" describes the equilibrium with nature reached by human comunities in Southeast Alaska. Most of these comunities are near, or even inside the Tongass National Forest. This is a very accurate picture of the ecosystem of the area, which includes also the human settlements, the Tlingit and Haida tribes who were the original settlers, but also the white settlements. There is a point of pride in being able to maintain this human - nature relationship. Ah! And the photography is excellent!… (altro)
