Chessie is a sea serpent who lives in the Chesapeake Bay. Chessie is most sighted at Calvert Cliffs State Park in Maryland. This is true. Now comes the story about Chessie.

Chessie has a big secret. She is afraid of the dark. So how does she live in a cave? What does she do at a slumber party? Her friends help her by showing her what she is missing by being afraid of the dark.

This is so cute! It's part of the United Monsters of America series. I know legends exist but I did not know about Chessie. I thoroughly enjoyed Chessie and her friends. I liked how they did not tease her for her fear but tried to help her and put a positive spin on the dark. The illustrations are adorable. I plan on reading more of Chessie and her friends.… (altro)
