My Thoughts:
An emotional, deep and dark story runs between a father, a son and a friend from the past. Every chapter was captivating and thoughtful. The story is to be read carefully and at a slow pace to let the intensity sink in the minds. Here, I shall indeed mention the publisher, HBB aka Half Baked Beans which always brings out the books with quality content. The readers also will find certain nuances interesting like: As the story revolves during the lockdown period, usage of sanitizers, social distancing while going out, cleaning the vegetables and fruits and such things.

What to expect from the story?
Expect a story that deals with the past and unforgettable yet bitter experiences.
Expect a story of unconditional love between two friends.
Expect a story that creates a rift between the loved one due to unspoken issues.
Expect a story that opens the Pandora box of emotions and feelings which liberates a chained soul.

Who can read?
The story is for the readers' who read serious fiction. There is certain matured content that which can be read under guidance by young adults. The teenagers can skip this book as the story is dark and intense.

How good are the characters?
The story has mainly three central characters and a few guest and important characters. The central characters being Dilip, the narrator himself; Sanjeev, Dilip's friend; and Sanjay, Dilip's son. Madhu is Dilip's wife, who is mentioned in the past tense as she is not alive. Another interesting character is Mahendra Mama, who happens to twist the story. Every character is scripted with ample scope to evolve and impress the readers.

How good is the narration?
The story in the first and third-person narration and the letters from Sanjeev is an interesting attempt.

How good is the Author's writing style?
The book is written by two Authors, Merena and Mansi who partnered with each other in the HBB CO-Author Project 2020. Much like with the thoughts, they have ventured into this book, titled, The Sound Of Boots. With striking and appealing language and font, the book is a recommended read.

How entertaining is the book?
The story in the book is all about the relationships and the complexities attached to it. Every chapter and the letter in the story gives a different perception of life. More than the general self-books, book or stories like this that talk about life realities teach us more. With many things to be learnt and understood concerning human emotions and life, this book is entertaining.
