Reidar Thomte (1902-1994) came from Norway to study at the University of Minnesota. In the 1920s he directed a mission school in China until he was forced to leave by the Communist uprising. With theological training at Hartwick Seminary (Connecticut) he served various Lutheran parishes. After mostra altro receiving a PhD from New York University, he taught religion and philosophy at Carthage College, Luther College, and Concordia College (1948-1973).
