These books just keep getting better and better! This is the fourth book in the Taboo series (the first is zero). By now, the whole city realizes not to mess with The Shop, or its keepers. Everyone, that is, except for a certain Magus... This kick but adventure is an immediate continuation of the previous book, so I don't want to give too much away. There will be bloodshed, practical jokes, and we finally find out what happens when Dash berserks! It's not pretty... All in all, extremely enjoyable, and impossible to put down!… (altro)

I finished Taboo 0, yesterday, and immediately started this book. I know, bingeing is unhealthy, but what's a girl to do? This world is so exciting! With trolls, and mind powers, catholic hit squads? There might even be a mermaid in there somewhere! In this epic battle saga, Frank and Dash are joined by Jude, a fresh-faced spook squad transplant from Detroit. Their newest sidekick can hold his own, though, and quickly becomes an integral part of the team. Written in a sardonic prose, and riddled with war cries and comic-book style violence, this book was highly entertaining!… (altro)

This is a must read for fans of Urban Fantasy! Imagine that Harry Dresden was an MMA fighter. Now, throw him into a Dan Brown novel, overrun with all of the pantheons, plus monsters! Starting to get the idea? This book is a really great way to introduce the world and characters of this series. In the beginning of the book, the main character wakes in a bathtub full of blood, with full amnesia. Throughout the narrative, his memory gradually returns as we, the readers, follow along and learn the landscape of the story, the various religious and psychic factions, and the characters closest to the protagonist. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.… (altro)
