A very academic sketch of what is known of the royal court during the reign of James V of Scotland. It is clear that sources for the period are limited, since the author often refers to records from earlier and later periods, as well as the royal courts in England, France, and elsewhere, to create a picture of what James V's court would have been. This work is also a call for more scholarship and research into the period, as many gaps are pointed out. A very interesting work, but definitely for those with more than a passing interest in the era.… (altro)
