Cute, short story.

But the whole time I was reading this I wondered...how old was he?!

Cullen Patrick is a professional snowboarder, and that's what he knows. So when he inherits a resort hotel in Colorado from a relative he never met, he's torn between excitement for something knew and not knowing where to start. And then there's the matter of Matt Nathanson, the hotel's manager--and heir apparent until Cullen was found at the last minute before that provision of the will expired. And having lost his hotel, Matt is ready to move on. Cullen knows he needs to find a way to keep Matt on, and Matt is determined to leave no matter what Cullen says. But for two men who have lived solitary lives, the prospect of suddenly connecting with someone is not only unexpected but might just be what they both need.

This is the first book I've read by Julia Talbot, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out, she has a knack for writing engaging characters--not only main characters but also the supporting characters (some of whom in this book you are not meant to like). I enjoyed this, and would recommend it to others.

Fun, sexy vampire story. BA does write a good vampire story. In this one a rather playful vampire picks up a waiter for some Halloween fun. Turns out he gets more than he bargains for.

Easily the longest story here. Rough and not always easy to stomach content. There is 'off page but within the time frame of the story' rape.
The Magic Show - Kiernan Kelly
This was heading to be my favourite of the bunch. So much do that I wasn't paying attention to the %counter at the bottom of the page and the implication of it being at 98%. Now I feel cheated. As far as I'm concerned the author wrote ch 1-3 and an epilogue & ghen said 'screw writing ch 4- 15'. We were perfectly set up with a situation ripe for denial, growing attractions, doubts, and finally getting together. What we were given was the event that would put all these things into motion and then a 12 week later time jump where the MCs were now together with none of the juicy stuff that goes in between. This should have been a full length book. Cheated!

Fun take on a shifter book. Big bad ex-cop wolf falls in love with client and fox.

A fun, entertaining romp through 1920s Egypt. Curses, sand, mummies, more sand, a band of brothers, and more than one romance.
I could hardly put it down. Action and adventure and a dashing silent movie star.
More please. Jeb and Clark, if I may be so bold.

So I liked this story quite a bit, and I loved that Brock and Locke/Griz were reunited and finally found their way together, but I felt like I was missing just a little bit about their history and why they were apart. It sounded like there was more to it than just Brock being in a different relationship. There was a reason that Brock ran, but (unless I completely missed it) I didn't see it mentioned really anywhere and Griz was just ready to move on without any discussion. It seemed like Brock very quickly jumped to being with Griz after trying to be away for so long. Them coming together just seemed a little too easy. That said, it was great to once again read about the Apex Investigations group. It definitely seems like there is more going on than they know about, so I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I hope we get to see Kit get together with his boss man. :-)

Rey is on the run and hires a PI firm to help him figure out what is going on. Dylan is assigned to his case, and he is immediately enthralled with Rey. The guys are shifters, so there is some mate like insta-love going on. There were some great secondary characters; the PI team was very close and awesome. I did feel like the book was sometimes a little too fast-paced and got tidied up a little too quickly, but overall it was an interesting story. I am interested in reading more about the other pack members. I would say this was a 3.5 star story.

Rey and Dylan are just so cute together. I feel like there is a lot of humor in here as well as a lot of love. I like how the guys realized Rey knew best. The grooming session sounds like it could be so much fun.

Brock and Locke. I feel like I should make so many jokes about their names, but the fact is that they truly love each other and they are so perfect when they finally get together. I can't wait for the next part of the series.

The three stories were ok...but just ok.

A slightly tongue-in-cheeck, somewhat quirky variation on the 'end of the world' plot. Even by the end of the book it isn't entirely clear (at least it wasn't to me) if the whole thing was a hoax or not... But then I'm not one for zombie tales, so I may have missed the point entirely...

Short, hot story about a werewolf learning to let go in the hands of a very hot vampire. ust a touch of domination/submission, but closer to 'kiny sex play' than real BDSM. I liked the way Jamison approached his self-appointed 'task'; he was decisive, but not overly dominant and listened for what Duke told him between the lines. Duke was skeptical, but by the end of the story seems ready for more.

‘Lean on Me’ is the perfect title for this story about Aiden, a psychic with an interesting if frustrating-for-him talent, and Jared, a werewolf employee of Club Bloodrose who may not be looking for a challenge but doesn’t mind taking one on. The two are brought together by matchmaking genius Jonny, the owner of the club, and while their relationship begins as a club contract, but when outsiders intervene, threatening Aiden, both he and Jared discover they need and want more than a casual arrangement. With a touch of danger and suspense, this is an entertaining story about a psychic who learns to lean on his own personal werewolf for safekeeping.

Aiden’s “special talent” has a pretty detrimental effect on his sex life. Every time he gets really excited, he broadcasts those feelings to everyone in a large radius around him. When he watches an exciting floor show at Club Bloodrose and lets go of his control for just a second, well, let’s just say that every single member in the audience spontaneously, um, reacts explosively. Aiden thinks he will be banned, but club owner Jonny has different ideas.

Jared is a bit of a control freak, but he believes he may have what it takes to help Aiden let go. As it turns out, he is the perfect man for Aiden to “lean on” in the sense of relaxing. Jared finds Aiden fascinating, rather then seeing him as a threat, and when Aiden tries to “lean on” him in the sense of finding out his thoughts, Jared doesn’t care. In fact, it turns out he is the key to Aiden’s freedom from men in black suits with nefarious plans for Aiden’s talents…

If you like supernatural beings with unusual abilities, if you want to find out how two men with complimentary needs figure out how they fit together – physically as well as mentally, and if you’re looking for a short, entertaining read with a lot of man-on-man action, then you will probably like this exciting short story.

Cool short story about a man who finds new purpose in a surprising place.

Despite the fact that Liam is rather desperate, the tone of voice is light, the story full of hidden, and not so hidden, humor. The simplicity of the solution to the riddle Matthew seems to present was welcome, adding to the enjoyment rather than distracting from it.

Seeing two loners figure out they belong together is always fun, and this was a particularly nice version.

While the story is pretty much 'as advertised' by the blurb, what doesn't come across is the humor with which this short book is written. I enjoyed Jamie's attempts at escaping his nature, Ty's realization that he isn't going to let Jamie run, and the roommate's insane attempts at playing werewolf. That was just too funny.

If you like reading about the 'softer side' of werewolf life, minus all the pack politics, you will probably enjoy this book.

Very short and hot story about a smoke jumper, Lane, who falls in lust with his new team leader, Dave. While Lane has some bones to pick with Dave job-wise, and they have real issues in terms of learning to work together, their interactions in the bedroom are smoking hot and show lots of promise for the future.
