Action, romance, royals, this book drew me in right from the start and was hard to put down. Coral is a princess preparing to become the queen of a small Mediterranean island country. She’s been in hiding after an unknown attacker keeps targeting royals. She meets handsome attorney Rand McCarthy while he’s schmoozing with her cousins to garner their business. The passion flares to life right away after Rand uses his previous military training to save her life. Holy cow! The beach scene…

Rand soon returns home to his law firm in Virginia thinking he’ll probably never see the attractive princess again. He’s shocked when Coral, who’s also an attorney, shows up at his firm for her first job. Trying to balance work with their previous fling proves to be complicated especially when danger accompanies them at every turn. Who is out to get Coral and what does their law firm have to do with it?

There were so many questions I had with this book. There are a number of shady suspects who could be involved in the targeting of the royals. Unfortunately, none of those questions is answered in this book. It’s definitely not a standalone as the book ends on a cliffhanger. The romance while clean is pretty passionate. Though the author is careful never to stray beyond kissing make outs.

I liked Rand and Coral. He’s definitely a grumpy character who changes moods pretty quickly. Like Coral, I felt a little whiplash at his changing moods. Luckily, Coral is a strong, intelligent woman who doesn’t back down. I liked that she didn’t let Rand get away with his confusing behavior towards her. The passion between them is intense and I enjoyed their fiery relationship.

This is a fun, suspenseful romantic read contemporary clean romance fans will enjoy. Just be warned that it leaves on a cliffhanger with few questions answered. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author but also purchased through KU. All opinions are my own and freely given.

Shootout is the last in the Northbrook Hockey Elite series, and I am so sad that it’s at its end! I have enjoyed this series so very much, and Shootout was hands down one of my favorites in the series.

It’s hard not to fall in love with Train, that big giant teddy bear, and Janae, the new dancing talent with a heart of gold. Their attraction is undeniable, and seeing their relationship blossom, while Janae adjusts to a new life, and Trane plays his heart out, fighting for a spot in the championship, was so sweet and incredibly entertaining.

I always love seeing the rest of the Northbrook team in each story, and this being the last book of the series it felt like a reunion of sorts, which tugged on my heartstrings even more. Have I told you how much I love this series?!

One thing that really connected with me was Janae’s character. I too had a short dancing career that was cut short thanks to a freak accident, so when I read characters that have dancing either in their backgrounds or currently, a wave of nostalgia comes over me, my thoughts immediately going to what might have been. So, the parts where Janae was performing on the ice with the other ice dancers were some of my favorites, as was the action on the ice with Train blocking shots, and getting into fights.

If you haven’t read the Northbrook Hockey Elite series, I highly recommend you read it as a series, as it makes Shootout all the sweeter, but no worries if you haven’t, as it can also be read as a standalone. The flow is perfection, and it’s a quick and enjoyable read!

Getting to know Reid Browning in Chute Boss, it's clear to see why he is the unofficial leader of The Original Six. Smart, headstrong, and focused, not to mention devastatingly handsome, Reid is the whole package. Reid rides bareback in the rodeo, and is feeling the tug-of-war between the tug of his father's world (the very political, corporate America) and where his heart lies, which are his rodeo passions. Though he tends to come across as a player there is a deeper side to this ruggedly handsome cowboy that Eden Cooper seems to quickly tap into, a place few have truly been.

Eden is a character that I deeply admire. A military vet, Eden is fighting neurological damage from her time in Iraq, and is fighting demons from her time at war. The beautiful sorrow between Reid and Eden is expressly poetic and really captured my own heart. Eden is a challenge to Reid, and I love that! She craves and strives to be strong, and doesn't just give into a situation, but fights for what she believes in, and I admire that so much. Seeing two broken people help each other despite their amusingly volatile relationship makes for a charming story that is real and relatable.

I know this is a love story, but I was touched by something much more significant, a stirring reminder to give thanks for those that have fought and sacrificed for my freedom. To those who have served, thank you so much for your service! You sacrifice does not go unnoticed. I also love that the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that is very near and dear to my heart, was mentioned! Such a wonderful institution that needs more recognition! I left this book feeling more patriotic than I have in a long time, and that makes me happy.

The advice that Kellie gives is spot on (she is still my favorite character!) and there were a few pretty steamy moments, but nothing too graphic. It's obvious Eden and Reid are passionate in more ways than one!

I truly adore the Lost Creek Rodeo series so much, The Original Six starting to feel more like family to me, and I can't wait to get to know the rest of the team!

*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I read through Kindle Unlimited. All views and opinions are completely honest, and my own.

I read Resisting Dylan in a single afternoon. This delightful contemporary romance had my attention from the beginning as the interactions between Dylan and Kate start early on. The romantic tension between the two is spot on and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them work through their relationship issues. Spiritual moments sprinkle throughout the novel and often boosted character growth for Dylan and Kate.

Resisting Dylan stands as the second installment in the Cowboy Inspired Romance series by Sophia Summers, but the novel can be read as a stand-alone. The Dawson family is quickly becoming one of my favorite fictional families and I am excited for the next novel. I enjoyed this fun contemporary romance and recommend it to fellow inspirational romance fans.
