I have throughly enjoyed this series. From learning about Adam and him find love to Devon and now Colton. I knew that all the soldiers had a rough up bringing and I thought Devons was gonna be the worst and it was in a sense but Colton's really shocked me. I understand the nickname and how he and the Masters will forever be tied whether both want it or not. Shelly works Colton like no one else and Colton returns it to Shelly like she loves to hate. This story is by far my favorite with Shelly getting her hands dirty unlike the other soldiers girls, granted the others know what goes on so they aren't oblivious to who and what they are and do. To find out about what made Colton into the Joker that he is and how he and Shelly have essentially always been connected read this story. It is a slow burn like the rest of the series you aren't going to get spice till almost the halfway point. I generally don't like slow burns cuz the plot isn't engaging but it is here and I will 'suffer (not suffer)' through an entire book of plot for Nikki and these men.

Finn you sweet quiet lovable man, your story broke my heart. It stole my soul and made me cry for the things you endured and kept locked away, but I fell so hard in love with you and your heart. Reasons I love you: Your smile that is rare, the love you carried for Effy, how much you loved your new family and sister Alice, your quietness because while quiet everything was said through your amazing art, I could keep going on, but I’ll stop for now and get to my review. Love, a reader in love with you!

Ok now that is out of the way, holy crap my breathe was stolen from my body not for just the bad things that happened to Finn, but his strength to move forward in life and share his talents with Southland. Finn had a tragic childhood, and it has shaped him into the person he is today and while he thinks he is emotionally broken, deep he isn’t, and Effy sees to his soul. Effy has loved Finn for a long time but his hesitant to ever show her how he feels always shatters her heart so when she thinks it’s time to move on, she realizes she never can, and Finn doesn’t plan to let her. These two souls were meant to be from day one but so many demons reside in Finn’s head he can’t show how much he loves her until he learns to let them go. I loved everything about this book, the way the guys formed their own brotherhood and created their own family, their loyalty and love for one another, Effy and Finn’s love, just everything was beyond breathtaking. The twists and turns had me on edge waiting to see what would happen. I couldn’t see what was going to happen next, but I was dying to know. This author has made a world where in times of tragedy love and brotherhood is stronger and finds a way out. I can’t wait to read more. This is the first one I read in this series and never felt lost at all, although now I have gone back and got the first two because this group has gripped me by the heart.

I feel like I have been slowly dying to get my hands on Adam’s story, get to see more of him and what makes him tick, as well as a little more of the other soldiers, and it did not disappoint. In previous books we see these Soldiers of Anarchy as bad guy vigilantes with no moral compass and do as they please. They have had a understanding with the Southland that they run their town as they see fit and everyone else should stay away. They are all dark and twisted in their own ways, yet they don’t do anything to someone who doesn’t deserve it and those people are the sickest of the sickest so they are doing a service to society even if they have to cross some lines to do it. Adam is their leader, a mastermind when it comes to vengeance, and a tad psycho when he needs to be. Once he sets his sights on Liv something in him recognizes her as being his and will do anything to make that happen even a little stalking to get her to see they belong together. Liv is a strong headed woman yet she carries a lot of insecurities around that she hides behind her walls. She wants to be appreciated and loved but even her closest friends can’t see the pain she hides. At one time Emily and Effy frustrated me even though they were only looking out for their friend trying to dissuade her fascination with Adam, I wanted them to be a little more supportive because she kept so much of herself locked away and Adam brought that out of her so in a way he was good for her even if at first she wasn’t having it. Adam sees the real her and wants to give her the world, but she can’t get past his reputation and deeds. Liv wants to come off as a tough chick and she is to Adam but at times she frustrated me like no other. She held so much against Adam and while he is a little psycho he’s a psycho that protects the weak, is loyal to those loyal to him, and he cares in his own way. I loved this Loving Psycho even if he did questionable things I LOVED his story. Liv took some time to grow on me but once she opened up and let Adam in I liked her a little more. Twisted, dark, gritty, super hotttt, this book had it all and I am dying for more!! (Ps at the beginning I was feeling protective of Adam so my Renaissance men made me mad even though they had a right to be

“I wanted to be death. I wanted to become that dark, silent visitor that everybody feared.” The Reaper comes for everyone but especially those who wrong him, those he loves, and the innocent. No one can out run death, no one can cheat death, many try but all fail, when face to face with our Reaper. Devon has a past that haunts his every move, it has defined his nature, and now he refuses to these evils go on with others. As a soldier of anarchy he has a bond with his brothers that can’t be destroyed and is stronger than any blood family there may be. They seek justice in an evil world and those that are strong enough to handle their demons are the ones that will stand by their sides for life. Devon doesn’t think he has the capacity for love, only destruction, but a raven comes along and shows him otherwise. Leah May the vicar’s daughter has always complied, done what was right, but suffers with insecurities and knows she is destined for more. As a promise to her mother she has always been Devon’s shadow friend, always watching out for him but at a distance. She has know for years what he is capable of yet loves him all the same. Devon never knew about Leah May until fate brought them together and now he can’t stop his thoughts staying to her. As he fights the inevitable Leah May just wants to be seen by him and when he finally lets go she is all he can see. When others want to drag him down, Devon refuses to go down without a fight and he especially refuses to lose, so he protects what is his to the end. This story was such a beautiful one full of heartache, pain, brotherhood, loving deeply, and being seen even when you didn’t feel it. Devon carried so much on his shoulders, was an amazing son and brother, loved hard even when he thought he wasn’t capable of it. He was beautifully bent never broken and with his raven by his side this Reaper will defend the innocent and his loved ones til the end.

“The reaper and the raven. One can see death, and the other deals with it. They’re a perfect pair.” “Where one exists, the other will follow. The scythe and the shadow. A dual reminder that nothing lasts forever.”

“Broken pieces from your life that made you who you are, but they’re shattered and broken for a reason. You fought to make them that way. Scars show you’ve fought a battle and won. The destruction I see is beautiful, a beautiful chaos. I’d take those fractured parts a million times over some make believe heaven that doesn’t make me feel anything.”

When the world shows you how cold, calculating, and cruel it can be trust it because that is how life goes especially for those who grew up like the soldiers in Briton Manor did. These group of guys have no mercy for those who are cruel or cowardly. They have no patience for those who do horrible wrongs or even for those whose wrongs may be a small infraction. They each bring something different to the table and make up this great dynamic that is a force to be reckoned with and as each story is unfolded wee see deeper than the masks that this cruel world has allowed them to wear for so long and none of them has perfected the mask in place as well as Colton King their very own Joker. For Colton life looks like it’s a breeze, that nothing phases him, and it’s all joke. What most won’t see is the other side of that mask where in his own twisted way he is Robin Hood of sorts that wants to right the wrongs done by those who destroyed his and other’s life. This Joker may have the laughs and the fear that he inflects in others, but he also has a heart of gold that you see when he does anything for all those he loves. When fate brings into his life the spitfire that is Shelley, he knows his perfectly crafted world and mask will never be the same. As these two cross paths and end up working side by side you wonder if they will end up annoying each other to death or burn with the heat and passion that brews between them. Shelley was a tough one that could put up with Colton and his antics while also giving it right back at him. With their banter the thing that makes everyone smile to Colton this drives his need to have her always up with an intensity. I knew before going into the Joker’s story that he would be the one to steal my heart and don’t get me wrong all our boys have their spots their but Colton’s heart and easy façade he displays really gripped me. Shelley, I did love even if times I found her tenacious stubbornness irritating. I did love that she would hold her own against Colton, yet when time again he kept showing her that heart of his she kept shoving him away while cutting him down which was cruel in an already cruel world. Overall, this group of guys are amazing and will do anything to protect their own and The Joker will steal the spotlight as always while in the background lending a hand to someone who needs it while also bashing some heads that may deserve it when it’s necessary. “We all wear masks in our lives, something we can hide behind that helps us cope and protects us from the harsh realities of life.”

Ryan Hardy and his band of misfits aka Renaissance Men are the kings of Sandland. Some hate them, others love them or want to be them, but no matter what, most respect them. Ryan and the guys have a plan they are putting together that revolves around Emily and her family and while plotting things out they realize she may be the key to it all.
They come from the wrong side of the tracks while Emily comes from wealth and the public spotlight, complete opposites or so they think. Ryan starts to seep under Emily’s skin and Emily fights him every step of the way which made their push and pull fun to watch. When things start to shift and feelings become confusing the attraction is too much to fight, they realize that everyone carries a pain some you can see and others you can’t, but it doesn’t make it any less painful and they find comfort with each other because of that. While Emily could hold her own against Ryan there were times Emily’s superiority complex showed and knowing how the guys had a rough life/grew up she still came off incredibly snobbish or insensitive, well to me she did.
The suspense kept me glued to my seat wondering how everything connected and I loved the side characters so much. I will say this I started this series completely not in order, what can I say I’m strange that way, but I started with Finn’s story then on to my favorite Soldiers of Briton Manor and I realized I was extremely happy that I did because while I love every character of both groups a few shocked me with how much I wasn’t a fan in the first two books.
When I read this book, I realized Emily could have handled things way better at the end with a certain someone realizing they were hurting too and for being known as such a caring person she came off as an @$$ to me and I found myself so mad at her for how things went down even knowing she wasn’t all to blame for it. Then in this story Liv. Liv is a character I LOVE because I read Psycho first and she just was meant for Adam, but in this book, I was upset with myself because I hated her. She came off as a selfish friend that was rude and acted out when she didn’t get her way or the attention wasn’t all on her, but I digress.
Overall, I love these series, the characters, but I will say I am so glad I read out of order and my anger towards some won’t linger lol.

Brandon Mathers is the epitome of a bad boy who doesn’t care what others think and isn’t afraid to let them know exactly how he feels. He is loyal to his best mates, the other Renaissance Men, and would do anything for them, that was until he thought they all abandoned him. From the ending of Renegade Hearts, I knew my heart was in for one h3ll of a ride and I was not wrong. Brandon is hotheaded and there are times when his anger blinds him, sending him on a rage, but deep down there is also a broken soul just wanting to be loved.
When his life seems to have completely imploded, he is left all alone hiding in the shadows watching as everyone else moves forward in their lives while he is stuck with pain and anger. My heart bled for Brandon because even though at times he flew off the handle or said things that could be harsh, I just knew he was masking his own pain and fears. When a tragic event sent him running, he found a new obsession other than fighting that kept him from going off the deep end and it came in the form of Harper.
Harper and Brandon’s path intersects in more than one way and even though they start as enemies they have a lot in common, but the pain they carry at the top of that list. Harper struggles with her grief and it is slowly eating away at the person she was creating a monster of revenge. She is determined to clear some things up but when things are brought to light will it be Brandon that brings her out of the darkness, or will he be her ultimate downfall?
This book packed a lot of punch in the emotions watching as two characters struggle with inner demons that eat away at the core of them. It also carries a bit of suspense that has twists coming out of left field that had me shocked. In Renegade Hearts I stated that I read the books all out of order and I did except I read this one after RH and I didn’t hate any characters as much in this one as I did in book 1, but at times I found Harper a struggle to tolerate. I understood her pain and process for grieving yet there were times she irritated me. I still love these characters and their stories; Brandon definitely deserves all the love.

Zak’s story is one packed full of emotions that will shatter your heart and bring you to your knees with how real his pain feels. The things Zak endures while trying to heal physically took a brutal toll on him and his mentality. It was a long and hard road to get where he is now, and it cost him his peace of mind and sense of belonging. He cuts himself off from the world to hide in the shadows afraid to step into the light.

Fear of being treated differently he essentially has become a recluse, until his friends really badger him enough to show up for important things, like Finn’s wedding. The wedding where things start to change for Zak when Morgan slowly starts to seep into his world. When these two come together Zak slowly starts to see himself changing, but is it enough to let all his walls crumble down? My heart broke so many times when he showed us his pain and the way he saw himself because there is so much more to him.

Yes, this is mostly about Zak because everyone deserves to dive into his story and fall in love with him without spoilers, but also because he stole my heart and carried this book for me. Morgan wasn’t a bad character; she was a lot to take in sometimes. She was in your face not taking no for an answer kind of person (but not the fun Adam kind of way), which isn't bad every now and then, but way too often she pushed boundaries too many times and too far that it made me angry for Zak (I grew very protective of him). I know she was just trying to get him out of his shell, but it also seemed like she had a hidden agenda to trap him into needing her because she liked him for so long and she was looking for forgiveness rather than love (that's just me and how I felt with her at times). It was hard for me to relate to her and when her secrets came out, not going to lie, I felt like Brandon, not a fan. I felt the reasons behind them were weak and just that, an excuse of she didn't know better. If Zak hadn’t been head over heels in love with her, I probably would have hated her.

Overall, this story is incredibly steamy, like off all the charts hot, but it was the emotions of finding beauty in the pain and overcoming such hardships to step into the light that made me fall in love.

When it comes to the soldiers of anarchy it’s very easy to fall for these bad boys with questionable morals and Will aka the player made me fall even more. Will has had it bad for Bryony for a while now and she has done nothing but blow him off time and time again. Will being Will doesn’t let her attitude toward him deter his advances and you see the playful side come out and I found it adorable.

Once he decided he was all in with her there was no going back, no other choice, and he never once hesitated. Bryony is a Master sister that we saw in Colton’s story, at first I was hesitant about the whole gang of sisters wanting to be like the soldiers and I will admit they are tough chicks, but I’m still not sure they could do exactly the things the soldiers do. With that thought going into this story I wanted to give Bryony a chance and I’ll admit she is tough when it comes to fighting off Will’s advances, but there were moments she had me frustrated.

Will and B find themselves in a situation that is impossible to go through and not come out traumatized. Will is incredible during and after the situation by being the strength that Bryony needed. My heart fell in love with how gentle he treated her and how fiercely he was out to protect her. The story felt so real my nerves were shot with anticipating how or if things would twist and go. There were moments I was holding my breath waiting for the next game to happen and then the next I would be swooning over Will. The story is incredible, intense, and once again we see the strength and loyalty the soldiers have when it comes down to their own. Adam Noble is and always will be the baddest of them all to me because how fierce his need to protect the innocent and his boys is.

Now if you want to hear me rant about a few things that had me wound up, I’ll share below. Don’t get it twisted this is a solid 5 stars and above read for me I just need to vent…..

I wouldn’t say I hated them, maybe I was just frustrated, but the author pulled emotions out of me I didn’t know what to do with. I think it’s amazing that an author can create characters and worlds were they pull the readers emotions to extremes because it makes us feel part of the story and to me that is incredibly rare but beautiful.

-I understood B’s breakdowns and moments of despair because it was a messed up situation and I’m sure I would be a hot mess, but for someone who put on such a tough facade she exuded previously, when push come to shove it was Will being her rock and keeping her from full on melt down.

-He repeatedly kept calming her down, taking her mind off of things, the one taking matters into his own hands so she wouldn’t have to live with the guilt or anything, and maybe 1 time she tried to be his rock.

-Once back in their everyday life, not even 24 hours and B has Will to promise not to tell his brothers aka the soldiers what has been going on. Don’t put the potential of a wedge between the boys, I get why you need a moment to breathe but come on they handle their own.

-Still not back a full 24 hrs and I expected meltdowns because in reality we all would buttttt that one scene (I’ll say with the mask…) To me I felt she was being selfish, emasculating him to make herself feel something and wasn’t really thinking how fresh things were what this could possibly do to HIS head???? Maybe I’m wrong and took it the wrong way but this scene probably would have been hotter to ME waaaayyyyy down the road like after things weren’t so fresh

I am DNFing this one due to the heroine. She is really driving me nuts and I think this is the last Summers I am reading. Not a fan of using these sisters for the men left in the group, not a fan of any of these women. *shrugs*

Quickie Review-May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading this review

I wanted to really enjoy this story, and honestly he is my favorite of this crew so far. But to be honest this book was lacking and didn't deliver as I expected. I really didn't enjoy the setup of the romance, the angst or the heroine at all. The heroine just rubbed me the wrong way and is my least favorite of the heroines we have been introduced to. I just didn't feel the chemistry between these two and it felt so lackluster from the previous books. And also the heroine was very toxic at times and not in a good way. In a way, that leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth on the negatives of feminism. She felt very ignorant and is it bad I wished that she was the villain and got some justice? Yeah that's how I felt about her. I wanted this hero to get a satisfying ending with a woman that would understand him and connect with him and give him what he needed, and just didn't feel like she came even close to that. I will probably take some time before I read Player, because this turned me off completely and I truly don't want to take it out on the rest of the books or this author. I really respect her and loved the first two books.½

Quickie Review

So The Reaper was a delightful installment and I really had a blast with this one here. The Reaper is a story I was really looking forward to because the dynamic of the couple I was really excited for. This is definitely what I love to see in a dark romance and I feel like we don't see this dynamic too oftne. I was also pleasantly surprised to seeing that the heroine has been the one pining after the hero. She has been in love with him for years and been watching him from the distance. She is more sheltered and was raised as a Christian but she also yearns for more in her life. And wants to be what she needs to be to be with Devon. Devon is the true leader of the group and is the heart of them all. He is going through some things emotionally and it's starting to make him crack beneath the surface. And being in a relationship with his little raven is what really makes him want to fight. There were moments of this story that just dug deep on an emotional level. I truly wasn't expecting it. As the first book was completely different from this one. So this author really developed a story that I wasn't expecting. The relationship between these two was full of heart and spice. So well-balanced and I really respected that it wasn't all about the sex. The author was able to deeply layer it. It felt like it had more balance than the first book did in that regard. The only issue I had with this book was the heroine. So the heroine is gentle, and kind but reserved. And there was this rhetoric throughout the story of her changing because she had to be so tough. Who said that just because you have a gentle sweet nature you aren't strong? Eventually, the heroine learns to accept who she is and not force herself into someone that she isn't but it did get a bit annoying at times. I am not sure if this was intentional by the author or it just evolved like this but I did enjoy seeing how our heroine turns out in the end and it delivered so many happy feels for me in the end. And the villain and how that is resolved SHOCKED me and tore me apart but it was brilliantly done and I am really happy with the hero and how it comes to a sweet satisfying conclusion where the plot of this was involved.

Rating=4.25 Stars!

The Psycho is a book that I have been wanting to give a try for quite a long while. This author has been all over my instagram feed, so naturally, I have been really curious especially around this time of year. And there is nothing more fun than a deliciously dark romance like this one. Now this is my first from this author and I am very intrigued with this series and how its going to be built. The psycho is very interesting. Now this book is far from perfect, it contains some plot holes, however, its was a wild ride that I just had a blast with. I was very intrigued with the hero, he is so layered and seeing him slowly come into his own emotionally was really fascinating. I wasn't as much of a fan of the heroine though, she was alright, but she didn't really do anything for me. I was expecting someone so different than what was in the story so yeah. I didn't hate her, I just couldn't relate to her on hardly any level so that did at times detract from the enjoyment. And there were some plot holes in this one and some teaser on what we would get and it didn't quite execute all the way. The romance itself and the way the relationship is built was intriguing and it definitely held my fascination all the way through and I am eager for the others but most especially Colton...he was hilarious.

I have been wanting to read these books for quite some time. I was not disappointed and in fact, after reading this book, it just makes me want to go back and read the prior books even more. The games that The Taskmaster played with Will and Bryony are evil. Yet, the victims, which you can't really call as they are evil men too, did deserve everything that came to them.

Will and Bryony's love just grew stronger through the horror that they endured. When they were together physically, it was not just hot but filled with strong emotions. I heart them. When the Taskmaster's identity was revealed, it was heartbreaking. I was in his corner, despite the trauma that he put Bryony and Will through.

Standalone, vigilante, part of the Soldiers of Anarchy series. 3 chili peppers on the Spice Scale.

Devon is known as The Reaper amongst the dark underbelly of the town. He's got an affinity for weapons and torture.

Leah May is the daughter of the local vicar and is a doormat.

This is a guardian angel/stalker type connection. Leah May's mother's dying wish was for her to look out for Devon because he had a hard home life and needed a friend. Leah May took that to heart. She's been watching Devon their whole lives and he's been none the wiser until they come face to face when he drops her hungover cousin at her cottage.

Devon notices Leah May and then decides to give her a chance to run away; obviously, she doesn't. They become hot and heavy - there's sex in a cemetery [sorry! spoiler!]

Character Development: partial. Leah May starts as a doormat to everyone and eventually becomes slightly less of one by the end. Devon is a broody, aloof guy who only wants to deal with his brothers and wipe the streets of sleeze. When they meet, they sort of fill something for the other.
Sex: okay and re-enactable *wink*
Plot: So, the unrequited love that's finally acknowledged; but there's a second stalker trying to get to Devon and making threats to him and Leah May and the group. It is resolved in the end and I did not expect who it turned out to be. Devon's response is mature and surprisingly empathetic.

Some call this 'dark' for the way the Soldiers handle two sleazeballs they catch and it can get to some readers. Reader Responsibility when it comes to subject and content matter.

Recommended for 18+.

** spoiler alert ** Luca is one of the few male alpha type stories that i have actually enjoyed reading. There is so much passion between Luca and Chloe, as a reader you feel how strongly they feel about each other. Their love has no end and that s what had me hooked. What can I say? I love a good love story.

Luca, I love his control over all matters. I love how he doesn't give two sh!ts for anyone else, unless they have some sort of meaning to him, Gina, Freddie, Chloe and his men. I love his dominance. I love how he cares.

Chloe, I love her feisty attitude. I love how she has loved Luca since the time they met. I love her loyalty to the brothers. I love how she is independent. I love how she will stop at nothing to do as she wishes. I love it how she takes control.

I am normally not one for violence and such that is in this book, but having two people who love each stopping at nothing to protect the other. It kept me reading and that is what is making me want to read it again.

I love the ending, the pregnancy test was such a beautiful way to end the story. It is what they both deserved. They both deserved a happy ending to the beginning of their relationship.

I loved it so much, amazing job can't wait to see them again very soon!
