I found this one at a thrift store, they had a whole shelf of yellow cover Book Company of America books, this is the only one that didn't look like porn, so I picked it up. I am still kicking myself over not picking up at least a couple more of these. The story within is a cheesy noirish action thriller with three sex scenes and plenty of ogling thrown in. There is a bit here to trigger modern sensibilities of course though, however, there are also plenty of brutal fisticuffs, Skinemax (I know, I'm old) level sex, a torture scene involving a branding iron, the results of an implied torture scene, and plenty of corpses, some of the stuff I expect in trashy pulp stories. So, the book did not disappoint although I think the author made the plot a little more complicated than it had to be (political thriller territory) and thus it bogged down in a couple of places mostly in the second half.
All-in-all it was an easy read and the plot never really stopped moving. I would recommend this book if you can find it under a couple of bucks, if the price is double digits or too close to ten, it ain't worth it. If you enjoy macho men smashing noses and skulls with their fists, being beaten into purplish pulp, and barely making it through impossible situations all the while managing to have sex multiple times a day with little to no sleep then this is what you're looking for. It was cheesy pulp action fun IMHO.… (altro)
