The Day of First Sun, by Sheryl Steines, is a tale of a contemporary witch/wizard and her role in finding the killer of the princess. This fantasy novel includes vampires, zombie armies, witches/wizards, and contemporary Chicago's police and FBI. Complex relationships between the characters provide context for the story. Annie, the central character and a member of the Wizards Guard (think police), has complex relationships with co-workers, friends, enemies, and lover.
