Book received through Edelweiss

I liked it, some of the essays were better than the others in my opinion. I especially like the ones that would make me think, yeah I remember feeling like that when I traveled to X, I'm glad someone else had the same experience. I will likely try to find some of the other books in the series to read at a later date, especially since it seems like I'll be doing quite a bit of traveling to new places in the next couple of years. One word of caution, this isn't a guidebook, so you won't get involved explanations of the places traveled to.

Interesting happenings experienced and told by interesting travelers from the most interesting places. When you start reading the stories, sometimes you want to be there to comfort the person who is telling the story and sometimes you just want to go buy a suitcase and a comprehensive travel medical insurance.
Imagining and saying “I would have done the same thing” is what remains with you once you close the back cover of the book.

I kind of expected something else, but it turned out to be pretty general repetition of the most well-known thoughts. Anyway, it was readable at least. And I have to admit, some suggestions were fabulous and inspiring. All in all though I'd say it was a waste of money. I don't need reasoning WHY I need a journal, if I keep one... I'd have expected a different approach.

Great engaging book about travel/vacation writing. However, although that is the focus, it's a great overall book on suggestions and ideas for writing great, readable, engaging content. Great ideas on making lists, getting details, and what to record.
