OMG. I absolutely loved this book so freaking much. I speed read this book so fast as I literally could not tear myself away from it. This book is an all-nighter five star, must read!

Axel is the type of "bad" man that your father warned you about but can't resist falling for anyways. He may have come off as cocky but everything that came out of his mouth is the truth. He is not boyfriend material. No. He is something even better...the guy that would k!ll for you.

I love Scarlett. She is a powerful woman. She matched perfectly to Axel. Their first time together and every time afterwards just got hotter and hotter.

While this book is about Axel and Scarlett, I did want to take a moment to mention her father. Instant love for him. The way that he cares for Scarlett and always makes time for her had me loving him so much. Scarlett is his pride and joy.

I am so ready for book two. I need it now!

This book was a lot darker than I expected. It's not one of those books where you think something might happen and then the protagonist gets away unharmed. Definitely not for just anyone. Really good book and I enjoyed how the story progressed, just read with caution.

The premise of this story started out really well. I appreciated the hints of darkness and looked forward to diving into the minds of the characters. It was suspenseful and intriguing. There were a few times with London that I wanted to shake her because of how she acted which didn't seem appropriate after she saw the seriousness of the situation and, especially, after she met Bones.

I read this as part of the boxset.

I struggled a bit more with this installment of the trilogy. I found myself wanting more story than sex for once but sadly, it was mainly sex. I wanted to dive deeper into how this all fit into the plan that Crewe had intended. London still drove me nuts with her behavior. I had hoped there would be more character development by this point but there wasn't. The darkness factor had also disappeared.

I read this as part of the boxset.

If I hadn't wanted to see where this book ended after reading this far into the story, I am not sure I would have continued on. I struggled with the plausibility of the story, which is a shame because the premise was really there. This could have been something so much more than it was. For a character, such as Crewe, and this supposedly dark world where laws don't pertain to him and he has done criminal activities, it seemed ludicrous that he would make friends with someone who had tried to kill him or who had wronged him in any way. There was a ton of manipulation by the characters which again didn't sit well with me because this is a world where loyalty is rewarded but that didn't seem to matter. Transitions were off, one moment London is struggling to help Crewe, and a month later with no explanation for her absence she is back at the hospital and dating but then she has a change of heart? Say WHAT?

I am just disappointed, because like I mentioned, this had the potential to be a mindblowing trilogy but instead just focused on sex and lost the story or the elements that had started me reading this story. If this had been the first book, I can guarantee I would not have finished it which is something I rarely, if ever, do.

I read this as part of the boxset.

I have had this book on my TBR for a while but finally, read it in The Scotch King Boxset where it was a bonus at the end. The blurb of this drew me in and it had the potential to be so much more than it was. There were so rough scenes but more showing the violence of how far Pearl was going to go in order to not be a victim. I admired that. However, there were many similarities that I found to Crewe and London in this book. I had a hard time finding it plausible that Pearl would act this way if her life and literal bones were on the line.

I did enjoy meeting Crow and liked the idea of the buttons premise. However, I started to see the trajectory of how this was going to go even this early in the book and am not sure I want to invest my time into another series that will likely frustrate me the same way that the Scotish King trilogy did. I am glad I read this as part of this book before I made the huge commintment financially to buy the series because these books are on the spendier side compared to the typical 3-4 dollars an ebook.

Just to warn you this ends on a cliffhanger. (the next one isn't a long wait but just prepare).
It introduces the next couples story but does not conclude Vanessa and Bones as a HEA.

The hypocrisy of her family, I found a bit too much, this is addressed and Crow does explain his viewpoint but really...

The scenes with Vanessa and Bones are sad and well written but everyone, including Vanessa seems to think 3 months is an adequate time to be okay with trying to move on from the love of your life.

I am not saying she doesn't think of Bones or feel guilt but to even try seemed too soon for me.

I didn't think it was that long and if you are okay with their relationship then she seemed to patch things up with her father quite quickly too, although it was strained.

If I felt as strongly as she did and was as sure the relationship was my future despite it's past I would have held a grudge against Crow a lot longer.

Although both feel the need to start moving on with their lives there are no intimate scenes with Vanessa or Bones with anyone else, at least not in this book, can't predict the next.

It felt to me like a short book and really doesn't feel like it finished even with a cliffhanger. If I had known b4 I would have waited to read this with the next book.

Last book in the trilogy.
Previous books in trilogy need to be read first.
I found the Hero incredibly frustrating in this book.
His reasoning is good to a point, he feels they want different things from life, he is the skull king and that has it's dangers and she wants a family and a peaceful life.
The problem is despite going to great lengths for each other he will not admit he has feelings for her.
At around 50% they separate and then it feels very repetitive, to me anyway, he drinks but won't admit how he feels.
At this point I found it very predictable.
What I did like was during the separation, although they both have opportunity neither are with anyone else.
His transformation comes a bit quick for me and he transforms very dramatically so he seems like a different person.
If you have read other work by the author most of the books run along a similar theme, maybe if this is your first series by the author then you may feel differently but it feels like a rerun.
The writing is good.
HEA.
There is plenty of interaction with the Hero's brother so a possibility of story for him.

So the book starts right after the events of book 2.
The couple had a marriage of convenience and safety for the heroine as it offered her protection but it was also an open marriage, both had been with others.
After the heroine's declaration and the time they had spent together recently the heroine felt things had changed so she was really, understandably hurt that he still went on to deliberately hurt her by bringing two women back to the house and even expecting them to eat breakfast together.
The Hero is basically running scared of anything 'real' between them.

They are separated at this point, or at least at the start she is leaving him.
The wife sees another man but the husband is celibate in their time apart.
Brave of the author to go against the norm there.
Readers tend to forgive Heros actions but not so much the heroine.
From the start of the book the Hero realises he went too far and is all about making amends.
At first his motives or feelings arent clear but he really tries to make it up to her and the heroine stands firm that she won't take him back.
It takes time.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
HEA.

Good story.
Continued from book 1.
Secondary character, Damien will have his book after next book.

Heroine is raped but no detail, though small hints through a nightmare and a heated conversation.

Hero is devoted to heroine. He does have offer from other woman but says no.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine but as stated before heroine is raped though no details.
She was kept by an enemy for some time so it happened often.

Ended on cliffhanger.

Interesting scenario.
The couple get married.
The Hero has offers from others but refuses.
No cheating.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
This book starts with them getting back together after their separation, it is mentioned in passing that both had been with other people during the time apart.

Secondary characters with possible future storylines.
Hero is hard, he says, though he doesn't tell the heroine that he loves her but has a lot to learn about how you show love.
Cliffhanger end.

Seems series will be 4 books then a further 3 about the Hero's friend.

This is along similar lines to the authors previous work but a bit different.

The Hero knows she's his future but she doesn't believe in good relationships.

To me his actions after they break up just prove that her feelings are correct.

He is an anti hero, his business is drugs and it includes violence.

Although he has the capacity to be good to her he can also be cruel when crossed.

Ends on a cliffhanger, rumour is although two books are listed it will be three.

For the safety gang.

There are no intimate details of anyone other than the Hero and heroine but on a break up he is with others, though no detail.

They are not together and he doesn't think he will be involved with her again so he's free to see another woman but the heroine sees them leave together after kissing etc.

Obviously from the blurb of book 2 it gives the impression he will be with other women during their separation of two years.

Dual POV.
Breadcrumbs dropped about a friend so options of more to the series.

This is the fourth book in the series but it also leads into the next series of books about his business partner and sort of friend.
This felt a bit to me like wash, rinse, repeat.
Really boring and predictable.
I think it's very expensive for a four book series and I'm not sure that the plot contained enough to stretch it across four books.
They are separated when the book starts and then divorced.
The Hero's attitude is infuriating.
He keeps on she left him and even knowing why and the horrendous circumstances, keeps blaming her.
To me he behaved like a child and never really saw her POV, from the start to now.
I wished she'd gone and had a HEA with someone else.

During the separation, while divorced.
There are few details, bit of flirting but the Hero is vague over sex with others by the quotes below from the book.
The heroine isn't. Though he thinks she is at times and she openly flirts and feeds his impression, playing games to get him back.
She knew I’d been out with other women, but she still didn’t give up on me.

A more beautiful woman hadn’t been anywhere near me since she left. They were trolls compared to her. And when I thought about them, I was filled with disgust and guilt. I felt like I’d cheated on my wife after the fact, even though she wasn’t my wife at the time. I still felt dirty…like I’d done something wrong.
The guilt overwhelmed me so much that I avoided her gaze.

“I’m sorry I…stopped being totally faithful to you.” My gaze dropped because I was too much of a coward to meet her look. “I don’t feel good about what I did. I’m sorry that I hurt you.” I’d celebrated my freedom at the time, but I didn’t get much pleasure out of it. I’d stopped loving her and I’d tried to jump back into my bachelor life, but once these feelings started again, I realized that wasn’t me. Whether I loved her or not, she meant the world to me. I was glad I’d never actually had sex with any other women.

I really enjoyed this one.
They are both with other people.
She's married and he is seeing a model.
There are hints of intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine but not huge descriptions.
Cliffhanger for next book.

Conclusion to Damien and Anna but breadcrumbs dropped for next couples books.
This one got on my nerves.
The heroine isn't willing for Damien to deal with the ex, to kill him, even though the ex has made huge threats.
This made the story feel, for me, predictable.
Of course the ex will cause major issues.
HEA for the main couple.

Although the heroine is painted as a strong woman, she is pretty foolish and of course ends up in trouble.
No double standard for the Hero and heroine in their past non relationships.
Once they meet again only with each other.
Cliffhanger ending.

I could have banged them both over the head for how stubborn they both can be.
During separation, neither with anyone else.
Small other woman and man drama.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.

Cliffhanger ending.

Totally dark and absolutely loved it! This story definitely touches on some really dark areas but in the end Pearl is strong and Crow is just the guys for her. Pearl had horrible things happen to her and is still able to be a strong female who can put Crow in his place. I am not always a fan when the captive falls for the capturer but this one didn't disappoint.

MEN!! Why can;t they just admit their feelings and avoid all the pain and heartache. Pearl had Crow's heart and its obvious he would do anything to protect her but he wont admit what we all know. Another amazing installment to the series.

Pearl finally has a taste of freedom and is trying to move on from her ordeal with Bones and Crow. I love how strong she is. That she can just show up at her ex's place and demand money to fix what he has done to her. She moves on as best she can but she knows her feelings belong to Crow. When Crow finally shows back up she's conflicted and the minute they reconnect you can really tell their love for each other. Loved this one.

London and Crewe were awesome. Crewe was hot and you can tell he struggled with what to do with London from the beginning. This book is dark and I hated Crewe for a little bit when he let Bones touch her but in the end I loved him.
