This type of story is outside my normal reading preferences but I'm fond of the author for historical reasons ;) so I want to read some of what he puts out there.
It's the second book in a theme but each are stand-alones.
We have a professional investigative team and we have "ghost hunters". The ghost hunters are professional in their way also. They really hope to find proof of the supernatural and have teamed up with traditional investigators to find out why some trespassers at an unused old psych hospital were attacked by "zombies".
So if you like a bit of crime solving, a bit of bigfoot chasing and action ... or how about, if you think you'd like a grown-up Scooby Doo adventure, you should check out this series. Speaking of bigfoot, he gives a teaser of the next in the "series" and I think he is implying we are going to see our team on the case of chasing the big guy. ------------------
I had a little crybaby fit when I had to read about the victims of the dang poachers but I'm glad I got through it. I loved the backdrop, the do-gooders and the story line. I suspect I will read the next in the series.
That was a good read. I burned through it except, I skipped over the good Samaritan section. I was too invested in the primary story line to be diverted into another.
I can't say anything for fear of spoilers but can tell you the author wastes no time in getting into the story. The opening scene shows you exactly what happens to the victims in the Helberg house located in Hope, North Dakota. Then entering into the story we get the paranormal investigators and the traditional FBI agents. We follow the team of six as they try to determine the cause of the phenomenon. The investigation keeps getting interrupted by "people in town keeling over and investigators needing medical treatment."
We get a teaser of a possible sequel and I have to say I'd read that. haha.
PN team: Wally Smyth. kept seeing things, Dr Ryder Chase Professor, Don Tannen EMT FBI: Special Agent Devon Jeffers (skeptic), Agent Danica Sohn, Jr. Agent Dunlap ----------- presented as paranormal but it's realistic fiction. I can't shelf it like that due to it being a spoiler.… (altro)
