I really enjoyed R. Sikoryak's artwork in this and it is impressive how he can alter his style to match the artist he is paying homage to. That said this is a direct adaptation of the Constitution of the United States of America (Articles I-VII) along with the Bill of Rights (Amendments I-X) and the Additional Amendments (Amendments XI-XXVII). Also, its important to note this does not have footnotes (except revised or repealed by the government) nor opinions by Sikoryak.

Every citizen of the United States should, in there lifetime, read the Constitution.

It's always a good idea to re-read the Constitution every once in a while, if only to remind yourself how maddeningly vague and annoyingly specific it is. And if the complete text is presented in a format that pays homage to more than a century of comic strip and comic book history, well all the better!

Each page becomes a guessing game of recognizing characters and classic comic book covers (with a sort of answer key in the back). I counted up more than 300 recognizable characters from the offensive Yellow Kid to the diverse cast of Lumberjanes. The cast of Dykes to Watch Out For shares a spread with that of Adventure Time. The Far Side is paid tribute across from a sampling of Adrian Tomine. Barbie and Linda Barry's Marlys are contrasted. All the characters are illustrated in garb appropriate for the 1780s.

Sikoryak does a damn good job of capturing all the different art styles, though it's not really specified if he is doing it freehand or by tracing or digitally manipulating the originals. Looks good regardless.

This is a clever look at some of President Trump's most famous quotes in a unique form. The artists are talented and the insights are amazing. This is definitely worth the time to enjoy this missive!

A fairly amusing gimmick. Some of the quote and cover pairings worked better than others, and some of the connections seemed pretty tenuous. But, my favorite was Trump as Tubby from Little Lulu. The two seem perfectly matched, separated at birth even. I'd like to see a whole book of Tubby covers and Trump quotes.

A cute illustration book recreating quite faithfully a different comic artist's style on each page, all while putting the character of Steve Jobs through various silly scenarios. The gimmick is that the text is just the Apple TOC, verbatim. The problem is that the visuals are disconnected from it, so the text serves as a hatch pattern, not content you need to bother reading. So keep in mind that this is more a collection of neat illustrations than a comic book.

This is a work of genius. It reprints Apple’s iTunes terms and conditions, but each page puts some of the text into a reworked comic page. Flipping through inherently challenges your comics knowledge—I was better than I thought I might be at superheroes, I remembered the newspaper comics I hadn’t seen for years instantly, and I’m deficient at indies though some are distinctive enough to come through. And the contrasts between image and text are somewhere between hilarious and disturbing—for example, when the Family Circle page shows the mother surrounded by children harrying her and we see the list of things you can’t do with Apple’s services (infringe copyright, defame someone, etc.).

This book manages to parody both classic newspaper cartoons/comics and classic literary works in an amusing and smart way. Everyone from Garfield to Batman gets a classic reworking here from the likes of Shakespeare and the Brontes. The author even took the time to parody ads for toys and get rich quick schemes like the ones that used to appear in comics and the letters to editors page. Extremely enjoyable.

From the moment that I spotted its larger-than-life cover, with the advertisement banner at the bottom that read “Coming soon: Virgil! Chaucer! Flaubert! And more! Watch for them at your newsstand or local library!”...I was all-a-chuckle.

The tales that are included are tales that most readers know, but not as they are presented by Robert Sikoryak.

They stretch back to the myth of Adam and Eve, only it appears here as Blond Eve. You'll recognize the inspiration to be the cartoonish Chic Young, 1930s, comic-strip, featuring Blondie and Dagwood, the "housewife with golden curls and her tired-out husband".

In discussing his work on this short narrative, Sikoryak states that in these Judeo-Christian scripture stories, characters juggle free will and duties to the creator like the “modern day harried husband conveys sandwich ingredients to his kitchen table”.

So, Blondie was the perfect casting choice. Obviously.

But what about "The Crypt of Brontë"? (More on Buried In Print, if you're keen.)

So, SO funny! I can't decide whether my favorites were 'Action Camus' or Raskolnikov as Batman. And the best thing? IT ACTUALLY WORKS. The Batman/Crime and Punishment crossover makes so much sense!

Very funny, I may be the EXACT audience for this collection, as I adore books and classic literature, but don't mind some poking fun of them, and I am familiar with the newspaper comics enough to get those jokes (thank you comics curmudgeon!) Teens would probably find this book awesome, but I wonder if they would be familiar with Mary Worth and Tales from the Crypt. The knowledge isn't necessary, but it does add an extra level of fun and funniness.

My favorite was the Tales from the Crypt/Wuthering Heights. For a book I hated in high school, and never want to read again, this was a nice refresher, leaving in all the exciting, applesauce-throwing bits while taking out a couple hundred boring pages.
