I have a few books in this series and find them extremely useful. For text books they are surprisingly easy to read and are full of clearly laid out and well-organised examples and information.

A big factor for me with art books is the quality of the example images/art works. If I look at the examples and think "Crikey, that's a bit crap" I don't really want to learn what the book has to teach. No such problem in this case, with the majority of the examples being very good if not excellent.

As an art student, I have found Marilyn Scott's "Artist Bibles" books to be well laid-out, easy to read (unusual for text books) and extremely useful.
