Isaac Sandidge

This children's book about how even brave people can get scared, and how one little girl handles her fear is adorable. The art style is cute without being twee. I really enjoyed the detailed art, especially in the furniture, foods, and hands in the dark. This little girl's way of handling her fear may be a little odd to an adult, but the point is that it works for her, and that helps her to self-soothe and make it through her fear so she can sleep.

There is also a parent's page at the end of the book that talks about talking with your child about their fears, listening to them, and validating their feelings. That's a lesson so many people need, and I'm really glad to see it pointed out in a real, easily accessible way.… (altro)
