Lily and her rider, Gwen, are members of the pony club in Great Britain during the start of the Second World War. They are very good competitors until a new girl joins the club. At first there is jealousy and then understanding. Will the girls become friends or just remain rivals?

Add in the eldest son going off to war, and coming back with a missing leg and (temporarily) broken spirit, and this was a fine book. Once again I was very impressed with the beautiful illustrations, too.… (altro)
